Nepali Voice Typing Online — Speech to Text in Nepali

नेपाली भ्वाइस टाइपिङ

Nepali voice typing is a browser-based speech-to-text feature that converts spoken Nepali into written Devanagari Unicode using your device's microphone and the Web Speech API supported by Chrome, Edge and Safari.

Speak Nepali into your microphone and watch Devanagari Unicode appear — free, browser-based, no app needed.

Voice typing replaces the keyboard for users who can't or don't want to learn Romanized typing — students, elderly users, multilingual workers — and is especially useful on mobile where typing Devanagari is slow.

What is Nepali voice typing?

Nepali voice typing converts your spoken Nepali into written Devanagari Unicode text using your browser's built-in speech recognition. You click the microphone, speak naturally and the transcription appears in the editor live, ready to copy into any app or document.

How do I use voice typing on TypeNepal?

Open the voice typing tool, click the microphone button, allow microphone access when your browser asks, then speak in clear short phrases. Punctuation can be added by saying it out loud — for example say "purna biram" to insert a Devanagari full stop.

Which browsers and devices work best for Nepali voice typing?

Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge give the best results on desktop and Android. Safari supports voice typing on macOS and iOS with slightly different controls. Firefox does not currently implement the Web Speech API and voice typing will not work in it.

How can I improve Nepali voice typing accuracy?

Speak in a quiet room with a good microphone — even a phone headset helps. Use short, complete phrases rather than long sentences. Pause briefly between phrases, articulate each word and avoid background music or fans. Accuracy typically jumps above 95% with clean audio.

Does TypeNepal record or store my voice?

No. Voice processing is handled by your browser's speech recognition service — TypeNepal never receives, records or stores the audio. The transcribed text appears only in your local browser session and is never uploaded to TypeNepal's servers.
