Preeti is a legacy ASCII-mapped Nepali font widely used since the 1990s for newspapers, government letters and DTP. The Preeti font download lets you view existing Preeti-encoded documents correctly and type new content in Preeti for legacy workflows.
When do I need the Preeti font installed?
Install Preeti when you need to view documents that were typed using the Preeti font and have not been converted to Unicode. Examples include older Word files, archived government letters and certain printable forms that retain Preeti encoding.
How do I install Preeti on Windows?
Download the Preeti .ttf file from the font library, double-click it and choose Install. The font becomes available in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and any other application's font picker. Restart open Office applications to see it.
How do I install Preeti on macOS?
Download the Preeti .ttf file, double-click and click Install Font in Font Book. macOS adds it to the system font list. Restart applications like Pages and Microsoft Word so the new font appears in their pickers.
Can I use Preeti on the web or in email?
Not reliably. Web pages and email clients cannot guarantee that recipients have Preeti installed, so Preeti text appears as garbled English letters. For web and email always convert Preeti text to Unicode first.
