Write a Nepali Document Online — Step-by-Step

नेपाली डकुमेन्ट कसरी लेख्ने?

Writing a Nepali document online means composing Devanagari Unicode text in a browser-based word processor, applying basic formatting and exporting the file in a portable format such as DOCX or PDF. TypeNepal's Documents tool covers every step end-to-end.

Step 1 — Open the Documents tool and pick an input method

Visit /tools/documents and choose Romanized input for phonetic English-letter typing or Preeti for the legacy layout. You can also dictate via voice. The same document can mix all three input methods if useful — the output is always standard Unicode.

Step 2 — Type your content and add structure

Type the body, then use the toolbar to apply headings, bold, italic and lists. Use Devanagari numerals if appropriate. Insert paragraph breaks for readability. The editor supports keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+B for bold, Ctrl+I for italic) just like Microsoft Word.

Step 3 — Choose a Nepali font

Open the font picker and select a Unicode font appropriate for your context — Mukta or Mangal for office documents, Noto Sans Devanagari for clean digital reading, Noto Serif Devanagari for editorial articles. Live preview shows the change instantly.

Step 4 — Export to DOCX or PDF

Click Download and pick a format — DOCX preserves editability in Microsoft Word, PDF embeds the font for consistent printing. Both formats include your selected Devanagari font so the recipient sees the document exactly as you do.
