Nepali Typing for Government Exam — Loksewa, PSC & PSC Prep
लोकसेवा टाइपिङ तयारी
The Nepali typing component of Loksewa and other Nepal government exams measures your speed in WPM and accuracy as a percentage on a timed Devanagari passage, with minimum thresholds depending on the post — typically 25 to 40 WPM with high accuracy.
What speed do I need for Loksewa?
Requirements vary by post. Section officer (अधिकृत) typically requires around 35 WPM; subordinate posts (खरिदार, नायब सुब्बा) often expect 25–30 WPM. Always check the latest vacancy announcement for the exact requirement — they sometimes shift between editions.
Which layout does the exam use?
Many traditional government exams still test on Preeti, while newer exams accept or require Unicode. Confirm the exact requirement before exam day. Practising both is safest if you have time, but focus on whichever layout the announcement specifies.
How should I structure my prep?
Eight weeks of daily 30-minute sessions covers most candidates. Weeks 1–2: master the layout. Weeks 3–5: build to 25 WPM with high accuracy. Weeks 6–8: timed tests to push WPM to your target with consistent accuracy above 95%.
How do I simulate exam conditions?
Use the Nepali Typing Test in a single attempt, set to the same time limit as the exam, with no edits permitted after submit. Practise on a similar keyboard to the one you'll use on exam day if possible — keyboard feel matters at high speeds.
