Nepali Typing Accuracy — Measure, Fix & Improve
नेपाली टाइपिङ शुद्धता
Nepali typing accuracy is the percentage of characters typed correctly compared to the source passage, calculated by tests at the end of each attempt. Accuracy above 95% is standard for office work; government exams typically expect 95–98%.
How is accuracy calculated?
The test compares your typed text to the source character by character. Each wrong character — substitution, insertion, deletion — counts as an error. Accuracy = (correct characters / total characters) × 100. Some tests penalise corrections; others count only the final submitted text.
What are common Nepali typing errors?
Common Devanagari errors: missing matras, swapping similar-looking conjuncts (श vs ष, क्ष vs क्श), missing halant (्), incorrect order of vowel signs around consonants, and typing English homonyms in Romanized mode (sh vs S).
How do I improve accuracy?
Slow down. Most accuracy errors come from rushing — sacrifice 5 WPM for 5% accuracy in early practice. Run drills focused on your most common error characters. Use TypeNepal's Practice tool to see which characters you mistype most often.
Should I correct errors during a test?
Depends on the test rules. If corrections are allowed, fix immediately — they cost less than leaving wrong text. If corrections are penalised or disallowed, only fix obvious mistakes and continue. Practise both modes.
